Giving
The goal of the PEAC Foundation is to provide all student-athletes with the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential both academically and athletically. This goal will be accomplished in a number of ways including raising funds through the PEAC Scholarship Foundation, special events, occasional Capital initiatives, and by working with volunteers, and community and athletic associations.
The PEAC Scholarship Foundation
Philanthropic support is crucial to PEAC’s future. PEAC receives no government funding, and while most of the operating costs of PEAC are covered by tuition, there are still many expenses associated with the operation of the school that are not covered. Philanthropic support of PEAC is essential to our long-term success. Funds are needed to ensure that PEAC’s student athletes have the best possible facilities to ensure that they are able to become top level performers in their sport, life-long learners and career-oriented, respectful individuals. Donations to the foundation will be used to help attract new students, offer substantial scholarships and awards, expand the facilities, and remain competitive in the private school market.
Space is available right next door to expand the facilities of the school and in so doing more classroom space will be available to meet the demands of PEAC’s increasing student body. Current funds we receive from tuition do not allow to us expand. By donating to the PEAC Scholarship Foundation we will have additional space for all students to learn, train and compete at their highest level.
We are asking for a 100% commitment from the PEAC community. This includes current parents and their families, PEAC owners, PEAC staff and foundation staff, including board members, chairs, co-chairs and volunteers.
How Donors Benefit
Each gift to the PEAC Scholarship Foundation makes a difference to the student-athletes involved in the scholarship program. We want the experience of making a gift to be just as fulfilling for you, as the donor, as well. We know that the priorities and needs of each donor are just as unique as their reasons for giving and that is why we have done our best to make giving easy and fulfilling for each donor.
There are many benefits to giving to the PEAC Scholarship Foundation. Some of these benefits include:
• Satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference to current and future PEAC students.
• Receive tax benefits for your philanthropic contribution.
• Be recognized on donor walls and have naming opportunities.

Other possible gifts include gifts of securities, company gift matching and endowment gifts.
Gifts of Securities – the benefits of this type of gift were greatly enhanced in the May 2006 Federal Budget when the federal government changed its policy of capital gains tax. Donors will no longer be taxed on the capital gains accrued on securities such as public company shares, bonds, mutual fund units and employee stock options, when donated to a registered charity such as the PEAC Scholarship Foundation.
Gift Matching – gift matching is a partnership between an employee and their employer and the PEAC Scholarship Foundation whereby if an employee donates a gift to the PEAC Scholarship Foundation their employer will ‘match’ their gift. Please check with your human resources department as they will have more information about gift matching.
Endowment Gifts – Endowments are vital to the stability of funding for the future of the PEAC Scholarship Foundation. These funds are added to the school’s investment portfolio and the income from these invested funds will be used each year for scholarships, bursaries and special programs. Endowment gifts usually start at the $5,000 level. A donor may create and name an endowment fund for a variety of purposes with gifts at various levels. A donor who is interested in making this type of investment should contact the Development Director.
