PEAC Piranhas Defeat Banting Marauders – Alliston, ON
November 8th, 2007
In a good test PEAC Piranha’s defeated the Banting Marauders 4–1 Thursday afternoon at the New Techumseth Recreation Center. In an end to end fast paced early action, Zach Mitchell’s quick shot got PEAC on board scoring a wrist shot over the goalies shoulder on a pass from Daniel Catenacci. The Banting goalie was phased by the lightning PEAC rush speed and misjudged a Carlos Amestoy wrist shot from a bad angle to give PEAC the 2–0 lead. Michael Greenberg made it 3–0 on a short handed goal mid way through the second period. PEAC goalie, Kyle Parker played well through 2, stopping all the shots he faced. PEAC took at 3–0 lead into the locker room after two.
In the third period Catenacci scored an early goal off the rush to give PEAC a 4–0 lead. After some scrappy play by both teams, penalties slowed the pace of the third period. PEAC had several sustained power play pressure, but at the 9 minute mark, Banting’s effort paid off, and got a deflection off a PEAC stick in front to break the shut out bid. The final score was 4–1.
