Soccer
The goal for PEAC students in our soccer program is to further develop our athletes’ skills, positioning, fitness, confidence and knowledge of the game. Athletes who are selected to be part of this program will receive daily training, (both indoor and outdoor), ensuring the program delivers an effective curriculum. The soccer program at PEAC enables our athletes to train during the day while still participating in community, provincial and national teams. The mandate of the PEAC Soccer Program is to provide athletes the opportunity to improve their all-around soccer skills through individualized daily instruction.

NEW AFFILIATION WITH THE CSL!!

PEAC is now affiliated with the York Region Shooters!!!! Players from around the world can now train, and play with the Shooters Academy team, and if they make it, can play pro with the Shooters!! This truly sets PEAC apart from all other programs and represents the REAL academy (school and 2 training sessions, and fitness per day).

PEAC‘s soccer program is headed by UEFA-A Qualified Coach Lee Merricks, who has worked with English Clubs at the Youth level such as Manchester United, Blackburn Rover, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.

The program is also headed by Miles O’Connor, who has played for Canadian National Team, Lille L.O.S.C. (France), Tourcoing FC (France), C.P.S.L (Canada), RRFC Montegnee (Belgium), Vac FC (Hungary) and coached at the Georgetown Soccer Club and in the U13 Regional Program.
PEAC’s mandate is to develop soccer players who can move on to the next level and showcase their talents and knowledge of the game. We have high expectations for our athletes: they must listen to instruction, work harder than the next person, respect the game and take pride in that which they represent. If your child embraces the PEAC philosophy, we assure you that they will become a better player and a better student.
Moreover, PEAC offers US scholarship preparation classes which teach student athletes to write an excellent SAT in order to receive offers to top tiered
soccer colleges in the US, such as Indiana, Akron, Michigan, and North
Carolina. We have an onsite scholarship program called PEAC College Scholarships. We take professional player videos which can be posted as part of the Player Profile package shown to top US colleges through our US scouting system. We take care of the entire Player Profile preparation, representation and application process at PEAC.
Along with the US College Scholarship program, PEAC has contacts with
agents who will look at our student athletes interested in a pro career.
These agents represent players globally, so they can make contacts with major clubs in South America, Europe and the new booming market of Asia and the Middle East.
We want to offer the modern soccer student athlete top class training and
support, scouting and scholarship opportunities, and most importantly,
a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards soccer which will stay for a lifetime.
It is the intention of the program not to interfere with the club commitments of our athletes. Our purpose is to develop the complete player through various avenues and to aid them in attaining their athletic goals.
Our focus is on long-term player development. Our curriculum consists of:
- Ball and foot work
- Shooting and passing
- Situational offensive and defensive strategies
- Ball distribution
- Mental preparation
- Game knowledge
- Showcase games against US
Colleges/universities - Constant performance and Evaluation reports
- All reports/statistics are constantly recorded.
The athletes in the PEAC Soccer Program train all together regardless of age or gender. This approach works well because it is a technique-based program where age and size do not influence the progress. Rather, the focus is on improving technical skills which allow PEAC’s athletes to play quicker and be sharper. This approach gives our players the opportunity to perform well in any competition whether it be school or club related.
